Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Punjab administration are dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of all people, particularly Divyang Persons. In order to achieve this goal, the department continues its steadfast dedication to the welfare and development of Divyang Persons in Punjab, as directed by Social Security and Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur.

Speaking about this, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the state government's authorized body is responsible for issuing registration certificates to institutions for people with disabilities in line with Section 51 of the RPWD Act 2016. Sections 51-55 of the Act provide a detailed description of the processes that apply to the application, issuance, rejection, and cancellation of these certificates as well as the funding award.

The Minister further stated that Rule 10 of the Punjab Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2019 mandates that applications for renewing registration certificates be filed sixty days prior to their expiration in order to improve the efficiency of the renewal process.

The Minister of Social Security has mandated that all District Social Security Officers make sure that this regulation is strictly followed, which would enable the timely renewal of registered institutions in their respective jurisdictions.

Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized how crucial it is to abide by these rules in order to prevent any disruptions in service to Divyang individuals. She underlined the administration's commitment to assisting all institutions in their goal to properly serve this population and reiterated Punjab Government's unwavering commitment to the care of people with disabilities.

In accordance with sections 50 and 51 of the RPWD Act, 2016, she also gave all state deputy commissioners the directive to make sure that special schools and other government and non-government institutions are registered in a timely manner for the benefit of Divyang people.
