India-Nepal Border Road Project Nears Completion in Bihar
400 km Constructed, Remaining 154 km to be Ready by Mid-2025;

More than 400 km of road construction work has been completed under the India-Nepal Border Road Project in Bihar. So far, about Rs 2,486 crore has been spent on this project. According to the information received, the construction of the remaining part of this road, about 154 km, is likely to be completed by mid this year.
7 districts will benefit from direct connectivity
With the completion of this project, a 554 km long road will be ready on the border. This will benefit the people of seven districts of the state, West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj. Social and economic development will accelerate in the border areas neglected for years. There will be a significant improvement in traffic facilities and road connectivity between India and Nepal will be stronger. Vigilance will increase on the border and SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) soldiers will get help in patrolling. There will be a lot of success in curbing smuggling.
Tourism and trade will also be promoted
India and Nepal share about 729 km of border, out of which 554 km is being covered under the Border Road Project. This project was started in the year 2010. It is to be developed in a total length of 1 thousand 372 km in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. A large part of it has been completed.
Development will get a new dimension in border areas
The completion of this road will reduce the time taken to travel to Nepal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. Along with this, trade, education and health facilities will expand in the border villages. This road will not only be a great facility for the local residents but will also promote tourism and trade, which will give a new dimension to development in the border areas
