16 Naxalites killed in fierce encounter on Sukma-Dantewada Border in Chhattisgarh

There is continuous firing between Naxalites and security forces on the Sukma and Dantewada border areas of Chhattisgarh. According to the information, the Maoists have suffered heavy losses in the encounter and 16 Naxalites have been killed. Encounter and search operations are going on in the area by the security forces.

It is reported that the security forces have killed 16 Naxalites in the encounter and two soldiers have suffered minor injuries. Let us tell you that an encounter started between security forces and Naxalites on Saturday morning in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. According to the police, this encounter took place in a forest in the Keralapal police station area, where a joint team of security forces had gone out on an anti-Naxal operation.

An official said that District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are involved in this operation. The operation was started on Friday night after receiving intelligence information about the presence of Maoists in that area.

Earlier on Tuesday, three Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Dantewada district. These included the Maoist Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head. Along with this, a large amount of ammunition, including INSAS rifle and 303 rifle, was recovered from the spot.

Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said that the presence of Naxalites was reported in the border areas of Girsapara, Nelgoda, Bodga and Ikeli of Geedam police station area located on the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts. After this, the team of DRG and Bastar Fighters went on an anti-Maoist operation. On seeing the security forces, the Naxalites started firing.

After this, during the retaliatory firing, three Naxalites were killed on the spot. One of them was identified as Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head.
