Sushila Meena, a 10-year-old girl lived her simple life in a small village in Rajasthan. But on December 20, 2024, her world turned upside down when cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared a video of her on social media. In the video, Sushila was seen playing cricket and Tendulkar praised her bowling action and compared it to the action of former Indian bowler Zaheer Khan. After this, Sushila's recognition spread all over the world. Her video went viral and millions of people were surprised to see it. However, an interesting thing is that Sushila does not even know Tendulkar, as she does not have a TV in her house and has never watched a cricket match.

Sushila, who hails from a poor tribal family, has now become popular among all and people who recognize her are coming to take her pictures. However, she is surprised by this new fame and keeps smiling most of the time. But when she goes to the field to play cricket, she becomes completely fearless and focused. Sushila said that she only thinks about getting the batsman out when the ball comes into her hand. Asha, who studies with her, says that Sushila's bowling is unpredictable and sometimes it takes a turn and takes the wicket.

At home, her mother Shantibai is proud of her daughter's achievement. According to a BBC report, however, some people have questioned her as to why she allows her daughter to play cricket by protecting her from household chores. This thinking is common in rural India, where girls are traditionally encouraged to remain busy with household chores. But Shantibai clarified that she will never stop her daughter from playing cricket. Shantibai said, "I don't say anything to them, nor do I listen to what they are saying. I will never stop her from playing cricket."

Playing cricket is a common thing in Sushila's school too, and her teacher Ishwarlal Meena has a big contribution to this. She encouraged students to play cricket and even trained herself from YouTube videos. Though the school does not have the necessary facilities for cricket, Sushila and her peers have gained some recognition. Despite Sushila's fame, the condition of her village and school is very poor. The school provides only primary education and opportunities to play cricket for higher classes are very limited. Some government officials have promised that they will take steps to improve, but no concrete steps have been taken so far.

Sushila's house is now flooded with cricket bats, but she has not yet got a proper cricket ball. Her teacher says that the rubber ball she practices with is too hard and not suitable for high-level play. Sushila shyly says that she will try using these bats. The question currently arises whether Sushila's viral fame will lead her to any real change or will remain just a short-lived breeze.
