Bihar Gears Up for Khelo India Youth Games 2025 with Venue Inspections and Upgrades
Senior officials review preparations in five districts, aiming to provide top-tier facilities and establish Bihar as a key hub for national sports events.;

Senior officials of the Bihar government on Monday (March 18) reviewed the preparations and inspected venues for the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games 2025, scheduled to be held from April 14 to May 14 in Bihar. The Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration and Sports Department of the Bihar Government, Mr. B. Rajender, Sports Director Mr. Mahendra Kumar, and Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, Patna, Mr. Ravindra Shankaran, inspected the Yamuna Bhagat Stadium in Teghra and the Refinery Barauni Stadium in Begusarai.
The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 are being organized in five districts of Bihar — Patna, Rajgir (Nalanda), Bhagalpur, Gaya, and Begusarai. Football matches are proposed to be held in Begusarai, while badminton matches are scheduled for Bhagalpur. Preparations are in full swing for the football competition in Begusarai. To ensure that players receive top-notch facilities for the successful hosting of the Khelo India Youth Games, officials from the Sports Department visited Begusarai and closely inspected arrangements related to accommodation, food, security, law and order, and the condition of the sports grounds. During the visit, necessary instructions were given to upgrade Begusarai’s stadiums to meet national-level competition standards.
After successfully hosting the Women’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy in Rajgir, Bihar is now ready to host the Khelo India Youth Games 2025. The games will provide a platform for young athletes to showcase and hone their talents at the national level. Moreover, this event will give Bihar a new identity in the field of sports. That is why the Sports Department of the Bihar government, in collaboration with local administrations, is actively working to make these games historically successful.
