BCB Requests Government Security Consultant for Upcoming Tour
The Bangladesh team will tour Pakistan at the end of this month. Both countries will play two test matches in this tour. According to sources, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has informed their country's government about the tour and has sought a security consultant from them. Cricbuzz reports that the Bangladesh Cricket Board has requested their country's government to provide security consultants for the upcoming Pakistan tour.
Meanwhile, the ICC Champions Trophy is going to be held in Pakistan next year, and complications have arisen around this tournament. The Indian team has repeatedly expressed concern about the security of Pakistan, while many questions are being raised about Bangladesh's visit to Pakistan. BCCI is awaiting permission from the Government of India to play in the ICC Champions Trophy.
BCB Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Jalal Yunus said that providing security is up to them. Bangladesh team is going to visit Pakistan because they have ensured security.
Yunus said , “Will the Pakistan team provide state-level security? After this is confirmed, the itinerary is fixed.”
It is known that Bangladesh has agreed to go on this tour only after getting the highest level of security system of the country in the Asia Cup. According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, many international teams have visited Pakistan in the last 2-1 years and they are all happy with the security. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is also cautious about security in Pakistan. But BCB finalized the tour only after getting all the assurances.
Meanwhile, while talking to reporters on Wednesday, Cricket Operations Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board Jalal Yunus said, 'We are also very concerned about security; But after knowing everything and getting assurance from them about security, we have fixed the tour.''
He added, 'At the same time, we have requested the government to provide us with a security consultant during the tour. Who will always maintain contact with them on security matters.'
Bangladesh are scheduled to play two Tests on their tour of Pakistan, the first match from August 21 in Rawalpindi and the second match in Karachi from August 30. According to Jalal, none of the Bangladeshi players expressed any doubts about the tour. He added that teams visiting Pakistan recently expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements.
