Rewarding Responsibility: Bihar Honors Timely Electricity Bill Payers

Under an innovative initiative by the state's electricity distribution company, consumers who pay electricity bills on time are being honored with a citation. The aim of this initiative is to encourage consumers who pay bills regularly and also motivate other consumers to pay on time.

So far, more than 100 consumers have been given this honor in Supaul, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Motihari of North Bihar. These consumers include domestic, commercial and industrial category consumers, who have regularly paid their electricity bills and contributed to strengthening the power system.

This initiative has not only boosted the morale of consumers who pay on time, but it is also becoming an inspirational example for other consumers. Timely payment of electricity bills ensures uninterrupted power supply to consumers, as well as late fees can also be avoided. He said that this scheme will be continued further, so that more and more consumers can be made aware and the power distribution system in the state can be made more strong. Consumers are also being encouraged to make payments through digital means, which will make the bill payment process more simple.

Apart from this, officers will also be honored for doing better work during revenue collection. The officers and employees who have done better work in revenue collection in the financial year 2024-25 will also be honored.
