Rajasthan Technical University Hosts Its 14th Convocation Ceremony
Hon’ble Governor & Chancellor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde Presides Over the 14th Convocation Ceremony; Chief Guest Prof. Rama Shankar Dubey, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Gujarat, Graces the Event;

Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota, successfully hosted its 14th Convocation Ceremony on March 25, 2025, at KDA Auditorium, Kota. The ceremony was presided over by Hon’ble Governor & Chancellor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde, with Prof. Rama Shankar Dubey, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Gujarat, as the Chief Guest. Hon’ble Governor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde awarded degrees and gold medals to meritorious students and extended his best wishes for their bright future. Registrar Bhavna Sharma delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
The convocation was attended by members of the Board of Management and Academic Council of RTU, Vice-Chancellors of other universities, officials from Raj Bhavan, deans, heads of departments, directors, principals of affiliated colleges, faculty members, administrative officers, distinguished guests, students, their parents, and media representatives.
Degrees and Medals Awarded
A total of 9,521 degrees were conferred upon students across various programs, including: 36 Ph.D. degrees, 212 M.Tech degrees,1 M.Arch degree, 745 MBA degrees, 595 MCA degrees, 7,817 B.Tech degrees,113 B.Arch degrees, 2 BHMCT degrees. This year, 7,487 male students and 2,034 female students received their degrees.
The Chancellor’s Gold Medal was awarded to Aditya Sharma, an M.Tech (Transportation Engineering) student from Kautilya Institute of Technology & Engineering, Jaipur. The Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal was presented to Rashmi Kumari, a B.Tech student from Arya College of Engineering & IT, Jaipur.
Additionally, 20 students received gold medals for academic excellence, including:
4 M.Tech students, 1 MBA student, 1 MCA student, 13 B.Tech students, 1 B.Arch student Among these 20 top achievers, 11 were male and 9 were female. During the event, 36 Ph.D. degrees were awarded across various faculties. 28 in Engineering, 3 in Management, 5 in Computer Applications. This included 24 male and 12 female Ph.D. recipients.
Governor’s Address: Lifelong Learning and Innovation in Technical Education
In his convocation address, Hon’ble Governor & Chancellor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde emphasized that convocation marks not the end of education, but the beginning of a new journey. He encouraged students to utilize their knowledge for societal and national development and uphold India’s rich heritage of science and technology. He highlighted the importance of critical thinking and rationality in technical education and urged students to embrace lifelong learning, innovation, and adaptability. He also stressed that education should not only secure employment but also foster entrepreneurship and technological solutions for societal challenges. Referring to India’s New Education Policy (NEP), he emphasized the need to enhance education quality, global rankings of universities, and the integration of mother tongues in research and curriculum development. He encouraged institutions to develop technical courses in Hindi alongside English and promote local knowledge and research in regional languages.
Chief Guest’s Address: Role of Youth in India’s Global Technological Growth
Chief Guest Prof. Rama Shankar Dubey, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Gujarat, lauded RTU’s legacy of excellence in technical education since its establishment in 2006. He underscored the significance of social responsibility among students and their role as catalysts of change in shaping the nation’s future. Highlighting India’s contribution to global innovation, he called upon students to harness their skills and expertise to drive economic growth and lead India’s technological advancements. He expressed confidence that RTU graduates, equipped with technical knowledge and professional ethics, will carve out distinctive careers in the global industry.
Vice-Chancellor’s Address: Commitment to Excellence in Technical Education
RTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Singh extended his gratitude to Hon’ble Governor & Chancellor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde for gracing the occasion. He presented a detailed report on RTU’s progress, highlighting its continuous efforts to enhance technical education and employability. Prof. Singh emphasized that RTU is committed to empowering students with globally competitive technical knowledge and ensuring that they contribute meaningfully to the industry and society. He encouraged students to dream big, set ambitious goals, and constantly innovate. He concluded by congratulating all degree and medal recipients and thanking the RTU administration, faculty, and organizers for making the convocation a grand success.
