The 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) was held in Delhi today. On this occasion, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Saturday emphasized the progress made in India's agriculture sector.

Chouhan said, 'Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's agricultural growth has consistently been the highest in the world. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we have made efforts to increase production, but India has also taken care to ensure that the production is safe for human health and soil well-being.'

Chouhan also highlighted the adverse effects of excessive chemical fertilizer use. He said, 'Our Prime Minister is currently concerned about the continuous decline in the health of human health due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers. That is why India is now emphasizing natural farming. We have to eliminate hunger and malnutrition, deal with the dangers of climate change and address the serious issue of decline in production due to rising temperatures. We will also have to think about the future of the coming generations.'

NITI Aayog Member Professor Ramesh Chandra spoke on India's achievements in the agriculture sector. He said agriculture has been a central focus for India, with the country achieving a historically high growth rate of 5 percent over the seven years from 2016-17 to 2022-23.

The 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It brought together leading figures from the agriculture sector from across the world to discuss key issues and future directions for the industry.
