The Election Commission had announced by-elections in Uttar Pradesh today but had stopped the by-election in the Milkipur seat of Ayodhya. The reason behind this was that the Milkipur by-election has been stopped due to an election petition.

The new update in this case is that the lawyer of former Milkipur MLA Gorakhnath Baba has announced to withdrawal of the petition. Advocate Rudra Vikram Singh, who looks after the work of Gorakhnath Baba, has made this announcement by releasing a video.

After losing in the 2022 assembly elections, former MLA Gorakhnath Baba filed a petition regarding the victory of SP candidate Awadhesh Prasad, which is currently pending in the court. According to Gorakhnath Baba, the affidavit filed by Awadhesh Prasad at the time of nomination had the expiry date of the notary. Let us tell you that if the date of notary expires then the nomination is cancelled.

Gorakhnath Baba had filed a petition in the court based on MLC Anoop Gupta's case. Gorakhnath Baba is considered a sharp leader of the BJP. Baba became MLA from Milkipur in the year 2017 but lost in the 2022 elections. In 2022, SP candidate Awadhesh Prasad won by more than 13 thousand votes.

Let us tell you that the Election Commission has announced the dates of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. Elections will be held in Maharashtra on November 20 and counting of votes will be done on November 23. Elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase. At the same time, voting will be held in Jharkhand on November 13 and 20 and the results will come on November 23 itself. Elections will be held in Jharkhand in 2 phases.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there will be 9 crore 63 lakh voters in Maharashtra. There are 5 crore male voters here. Votes will be cast at one lakh polling booths here. There will be around 960 voters at every booth in Maharashtra. Rajiv said that there are 2 crore 60 lakh voters in Jharkhand. There are 1 crore 31 lakh male voters and 1 crore 29 lakh female voters here. Voting will take place at 29 thousand 526 booths in Jharkhand. There will be 881 voters at every booth in Jharkhand.
