Agniveer Soldier Arrested as Mastermind in Bhopal Jewellery Shop Robbery
Police Crack Case Within 24 Hours; 6 Suspects, Including Army Personnel, Arrested for ₹50 Lakh Robbery
The police has made a sensational disclosure in the case of robbery in a jewellery shop in Bagh Sevania area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. According to the police, the main accused in the case of robbery of more than 50 lakhs is an Agniveer soldier. Actually, the sensational robbery incident took place in SS Jewelers Shop located in Krishna Arcade Colony of the area. The incident took place on the night of 13 August at 10:00 pm.
Two miscreants entered the jeweler's shop wearing helmets and threatened the shopkeeper by showing a gun. In just 7 minutes, they looted silver rakhis, jewellery and cash and fled. However, during this time, the picture of both the accused wearing helmets was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the shop. Bhopal Police had formed 9 teams to investigate this case and after scanning more than 400 CCTV cameras installed in a 20 km route around the area, the accused were also identified based on the footage found.
The mastermind of the incident is Mohit Singh Baghel, who is said to be an Agniveer soldier in the Indian Army and is posted in Pathankot. According to police sources, he carried out this robbery to fulfill his expensive hobbies and to pay off his home loan. Revealing the case, Police Commissioner Hari Narayanchari said that the police team reached the spot immediately after the incident and after a thorough investigation, the accused were identified within 24 hours.
About 6 people were identified. All have been arrested. There are mainly two accused, who had pistols in their hands and who carried out the robbery in the jewellery shop. Among these, the main accused is Mohit, who is posted as Agniveer in Pathankot and had come on a 15-day leave. The second is his friend Akash.
