Indian Shooter Adds Third Medal to Nation’s Tally in Paris Olympics with Historic Win in 50m Rifle 3 Position Event
The Maharashtra government announced prize money of Rs 1 crore to Swapnil Kusale after his historic success. On the sixth day of the Paris Olympics, Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale won the bronze medal and added the third medal to India's kitty. Till now India has won three medals in this Olympics so far and all three came from shooting. He created history by winning this medal in the 50-meter rifle 3 position event.
Shooter Swapnil, who achieved historic success for India in the Paris Olympics, is the pride of the country. India was expecting a medal from him on the sixth day of the game and he did not disappoint the countrymen. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his happiness on the success of Swapnil and announced to reward him. After Swapnil returns to the country, the Maharashtra government will give him a prize money of Rs 1 crore.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while talking to the media, said that he spoke to Swapnil Kusale's parents and coach after he won the medal. The Indian shooter was congratulated through a video call on winning the medal. Eknath Shinde said, "The Maharashtra government announces a reward of Rs 1 crore for Swapnil Kusale. He will be given the award after returning from the Olympics in Paris." Bronze medal-winning shooter Swapnil is a resident of Kambalwadi village in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

Shooter Swapnil Kusale is the second player to win an Olympic medal for Maharashtra in any singles event. Khashaba Dadasaheb won a bronze medal in wrestling in the 1952 Olympics. Now in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Swapnil won a bronze medal for India in the 50m rifle 3 position.
