The Indian hockey team has performed brilliantly in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 and has not lost a single match till the final. The Indian hockey team has won the Asian Champions Trophy title for the fifth time.

In the Asian Champions Trophy 2024, the Indian hockey team defeated China 1-0. At the beginning of this match, no one from the teams was able to score a goal. Then a few minutes before the match ended, Jugraj Singh scored a goal for India. Due to this goal, the Indian hockey team was successful in winning the title. China made it to the final for the first time and lost for the first time.

In the first quarter, players from both teams failed to score goals. India created opportunities to score goals, but the team could not succeed in scoring goals. India also got a penalty corner. But the Indian hockey team could not capitalize on it. No goal was scored by the teams in the second quarter. In this quarter, China's defense performed brilliantly and kept the Indian players at bay. In the third quarter, China made several attacks to score goals, but none of them worked in front of Indian goalkeeper Krishna Pathak.

When there was no goal between the two teams till the third quarter. In such a situation, it seemed that the match would go into a penalty shootout. But after this, Jugraj Singh scored a brilliant field goal and gave the team a 1-0 lead in the match. This increased the hopes of the Indian hockey team to win. After this, India did not give China any chance to score a goal. Jugraj's goal in the final proved to be important in helping the team win the trophy.

The team defeated South Korea 4-1 in the semi-finals. Harmanpreet Singh, Uttam Singh and Jarmanpreet Singh scored goals against the Korean team.

Earlier, India won the trophy in 2011, 2016, 2018 (joint winner with Pakistan) and 2023. Harmanpreet Singh has received the Player of the Tournament award for his strong performance throughout the tournament.
