Krishna Kumar Mantoo Inaugurates National Cyber Law Moot Court Competition at Chanakya University with 24 Law Schools Participating;

State Information and Technology Minister Krishna Kumar Mantoo said that it is very important for the common citizens of the country to know the law. Legal education should be given to children from class 8 in school itself. Because every day people face issues related to law. Be it traffic law or law related to general crime. Due to lack of general knowledge of law, people have to face legal actions. He said that if children have general knowledge of law at school level itself, then they will not violate the law. This will strengthen the law in the country and the number of cases in our courts will also decrease.
State Information and Technology Minister Krishna Kumar Mantoo was inaugurating the Cyber Law National Moot Court (Imaginary Court) Competition-2025 organized at Chanakya National Law University on Saturday. It is being organized jointly by Chanakya National Law University and the Department of Information and Technology of the Government of Bihar. Today, cases of cyber crime are increasing rapidly. This is a crime in which people have no information about the criminals and they commit crimes against people while sitting abroad. The easiest way to avoid this is that people should have knowledge of law as well as technology. He praised the efforts of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the establishment of Chanakya National Law University. Also, he appealed to the students who came to participate in this moot court competition from various law universities of the country to work for their state and country with full energy.
On this occasion, Chanakya National Law University Registrar Dr. SP Singh said that in recent times, there has been a rapid increase in cases of cyber arrests and cyber fraud. The main reason for this is the rapid growth of online services in our country. We are competing with developed countries in these services. In such a situation, it is important that crimes related to this should also be resolved online.
Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Special Secretary, Department of Information and Technology, said that this moot court competition will provide a big platform to law students. Cyber crime incidents in the country have increased by 300 percent in the last few years. Which is a big challenge for us in the coming times.
