Five-day event to showcase Bihar’s culture, education, tourism, and traditional industries with exhibitions, cultural performances, and interactive experiences.;

The historic Gandhi Maidan of the capital is fully decorated for the celebration of Bihar Day. This year the event of Bihar Day is being organized in a grand and extensive manner.

This time it is being organized in 10 times more area than last year i.e. 1 lakh 25 thousand square feet. The theme has been kept as "Unnat Bihar - Vikasit Bihar". This grand festival will run from 22 to 26 March, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today. The Education Department is its nodal department and extensive preparations have been made for this festival from its level. This event will be completely free for the general public. Stalls have also been set up by various departments for information and exhibition of government schemes.

From 22 to 24 March, models made by students, exhibition of paintings awarded in painting competition and teaching learning material (TLM) made by teachers will be displayed at various stalls. Local public participation has been encouraged in this exhibition. So that more and more people can understand the innovations taking place in the education system.

Special arrangements for health facilities

The Health Department will set up 15 free health stalls on 22 and 23 March. Sugar test, expert consultation, HPV vaccine facilities will be available at these stalls. Apart from this, vaccination counters will also be set up to prevent 12 diseases. The entire event will be supervised by a team of civil surgeon and 11 senior doctors.

Attraction of tourism and cultural heritage

To showcase the rich cultural heritage of Bihar, 3D replicas of major tourist places like Mahabodhi Temple, Nalanda University, Vishwa Shanti Stupa, Takht Sriharimandir Patna Sahib will be made. Common people will also be able to enjoy it through virtual medium. Also, a tourism information center will be set up, where information about investment and tourism policy will be given.

Traditional industries will get encouragement

The event will also have an exhibition of products related to handloom, handicrafts, leather, jute and lacquer industries. This initiative will work to encourage the development and expansion of traditional industries of Bihar by connecting local artisans, entrepreneurs and investors.

Separate selfie point for the audience

Special standees will be installed by the Information Department to provide information about the major development schemes, achievements, iconic buildings and tourist places of the state government. Along with this, street plays will also be organized by the department with the aim of making people aware. Selfie points have also been arranged for those coming to the function, in which an attractive selfie point has been specially made on Marine Drive.

Theatrical event based on women theme

The Department of Art, Culture and Youth will set up a special stall at Gandhi Maidan, where the achievements, working methods and future plans of the department will be displayed. Apart from this, a painting workshop will be organized for disabled children at Lalit Kala Bhavan, in which students from various schools of Patna will participate.

Cultural programs too

Various cultural programs will be organized at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall, Gandhi Maidan, Ravindra Bhavan and Premchand Rangshala. There will be a special drama festival based on women theme at Premchand Rangshala, in which all the characters will be women. Along with this, street plays will also be staged.

Security arrangements will be tight

Keeping in mind the security and law and order in view of the Bihar Day celebrations, morning and evening walks have been banned in Gandhi Maidan, Patna. Apart from this, the ban will remain in force till March 24 for other purposes as well.

Colors of Bihar's handicrafts and folk artwork will also be visible

A glimpse of Bihar's amazing handicrafts, handlooms and other traditional products will also be seen. Handloom and textiles, weaving, khadi along with handicrafts and paintings like Madhubani painting, Manjusha painting, Tikuli painting will be the main attraction in the stalls. Along with this, handmade crafts like Sikki art, paper embroidery, paper mache, terra cotta, along with other things will be displayed. These include beautiful and attractive artworks made from dried grass, Sujni embroidery which is a traditional artwork made of fine hand embroidery on cotton clothes, paper mache which includes attractive artistic products made from handmade paper pulp as well as decorative and useful products made from clay, which reflect the rich potter tradition of Bihar. Bamboo and Cane Crafts Eco-friendly and robust handicrafts, including baskets, furniture and decorative items will also be showcased. Apart from this, weaving in handloom and textiles will showcase a unique collection of traditional handloom fabrics of Bihar such as Bhagalpuri Silk, Tussar Silk, Kosa Silk and beautiful cotton fabrics. An excellent range of Khadi fabrics will be on display.
