Railways Increase Special Trains to Ensure Safe and Comfortable Travel, Approves Major Rail Projects and Startup Fund in Cabinet Meeting
On Diwali 2024 and Chhath festival, Indian Railways has given a gift to the people ready to go to their homes. Railways will run 7000 Diwali and Chhath special trains on these festivals. This will make the journey of the passengers safe and better. This decision has been approved in the cabinet meeting on Thursday.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that about two lakh passengers will benefit from the decision of the Railways to run special trains every day. The Railway Minister also informed that this time more than 2023 special trains have been run. Last year, Indian Railways ran a total of 4500 special trains. This year this number has been increased to 7000. According to railway officials, along with special trains, some bogies will also be kept at every major station. They will be added to trains if needed on busy routes.
Apart from this, railway and RPF personnel have been deployed to control the crowd at the stations. A separate operation room has been set up at every major station for the Diwali and Chhath festivals. Passengers will get information about additional or special trains on the IRCTC website or IRCTC mobile app.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the cabinet has also approved two major rail projects. First, a 3.2 km bridge will be built on the Krishna River. At the same time, the railway line from Narkatiaganj to Muzaffarpur will be doubled. This rail line connects North Bihar to the North Eastern states. A total of Rs 4553 crore will be spent on this project. Along with this, the cabinet has also approved a venture capital fund to promote startups in space. This will be a fund of Rs 1000 crore.
