Bihar is gearing up to host the prestigious Khelo India Youth Games 2025, with a grand launch ceremony scheduled for April 14 in Patna. The event will feature the unveiling of the official logo, mascot, torch, anthem, and jersey for the games, marking a significant milestone in the state's sporting journey.
A high-level delegation from Bihar, including Sports Minister Surendra Mehta, Additional Chief Secretary B. Rajendra, and Bihar State Sports Authority Director General Ravindran Shankaran, recently visited Delhi to personally extend invitations to Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, State Sports Minister Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, and other key officials.
The launch ceremony promises to be a cultural showcase, highlighting Bihar's rich heritage while energizing youth from across the nation. This precedes the main sporting event scheduled from May 4-15, which will see participation from over 10,000 young athletes competing across five cities - Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Begusarai.
In a notable first, the 2025 edition will include e-sports as a demonstration sport. Through this major national event, the Bihar government aims to strengthen local sports infrastructure and provide a platform for talented youth to compete at the national level.
