Kolkata rape case: A heart-wrenching incident took place on the night of 9 August at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. A female trainee doctor was brutally murdered after being raped. This incident caused outrage among the people across the country. There were statewide protests and the government was demanded to make strict laws. This incident raised serious questions about the law and order in West Bengal.
Wayanad landslide: A massive landslide occurred in the Wayanad district of Kerala on 30 July. An area of several kilometers was destroyed in this tragedy. More than 231 people were confirmed dead in this landslide. It is reported that the death toll is more than 420. After the incident, rescue operations were carried out in many areas. The scene of destruction was heart-wrenching. The loss in this tragedy was reported to be around Rs 1200 crore.
Tirupati Laddu controversy: Controversy arose over the use of animal fat in Tirupati temple's prasad laddu. This controversy started on September 18, when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu alleged that fat was being mixed in the Tirupati Prasad. This controversy put the Tirupati temple administration in the dock and a big debate broke out on the Prasad of temples.
Reasi terror attack: On June 9, terrorists attacked a bus in the Pouni area of the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The bus was going from Shiv Khori to Katra when the terrorists opened fire. After the attack, the bus fell into a ditch, in which 9 people including a child died.
Hathras stampede case: 123 people died in a stampede after a satsang on July 2 in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. This incident happened when thousands of people had gathered during a religious satsang. This accident occurred due to lack of security arrangements by the police and administration, in which there was a huge stampede and people were crushed to death. After the incident, Bhole Baba alias Narayan Sakar Hari, who used to do Satsang, shifted to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
