Patna: Bihar Police has intensified its crackdown on crime, with 227 arrests made so far this year, including 29 wanted criminals. The police have also gunned down two notorious criminals and arrested eight Naxalites in separate encounters.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a clear message that there will be zero tolerance for crime in the state. The police have been given a free hand to take action against criminals, and advanced digital surveillance, data analytics, and real-time intelligence are being used to track down and arrest offenders.

The crackdown has been intensified in districts such as Araria, Munger, Gaya, and Bhojpur, where police units are launching operations as soon as they track suspects' locations. The Special Task Force (STF), Special Operations Group (SOG), and district police are working together to dismantle Naxalite and organized crime networks.

The police have also set up 15 Special Operations Groups (SOGs) to crack down on organized crime. Hundreds of arrests have been made in cases linked to ransom gangs, arms smuggling, and financial crimes.

The state government has also prepared a digital crime database to track criminal activity in real-time. The database is proving to be a game-changer in the crackdown on crime.

The police are also keeping a close watch on top-10 and top-20 wanted criminals, including those who are operating from outside the state. The government is preparing to introduce a stricter policy to curb the illegal arms trade and regulate the sale of ammunition.

With the intensified crackdown on crime, Bihar is witnessing a significant change in its law and order situation. The police are sending a clear message that crime will not be tolerated, and offenders will be brought to justice.
