Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the newly constructed section of the road from Digha to Didarganj under the J.P. Ganga Path Project by unveiling the stone plaque through remote. In the inauguration program organized on this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Shri Mihir Kumar Singh welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him a bouquet of flowers. During this, the Chief Minister also took stock of the newly constructed road. The total length of J.P. Ganga Path from Digha to Didarganj is 20.5 kilometers.
The Chief Minister said that the construction work of J.P. Ganga Path from Digha to Didarganj has been completed, which has been inaugurated today. With the construction of this road, people going to Bihar Sharif, Mokama and Begusarai will get a lot of relief, time will also be saved. Passengers will have ease in commuting to various areas of Patna city.
It is noteworthy that the construction of JP Ganga Path from Digha to Didarganj on the southern bank of the Ganga River in Patna city has been done in a phased manner by the Road Construction Department at a cost of Rs 3831 crore. The foundation stone of the JP Ganga Path project was laid on 11 October 2013 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan. This path has been named JP Ganga Path in honor of Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan. In the first phase, the construction work of this path was done from Digha to PMCH, whose length is 7.5 kilometers. After this, in the second phase, JP Ganga Path was constructed from PMCH to Gaighat, whose length is 5 kilometers. In the third phase, the construction work of JP Ganga Path Project was completed from Gaighat to Kangan Ghat, whose length is 3 kilometers. Considering the utility of J.P. Ganga Path, its connectivity between Digha and Didarganj has been provided through Atal Path, L.C.T. Ghat, Gandhi Maidan near A.N. Sinha Institute, PMCH, Krishna Ghat, Gaighat, Kangan Ghat and Patna Ghat. With the completion of the construction work of J.P. Ganga Path from Digha to Didarganj, movement between the eastern and western areas of Patna has become easy. During the Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister has announced to extend the J.P. Ganga Path from Didarganj to Mokama via Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur, Barh in the east direction and Bihta, Koilwar in the west direction, which is being implemented by the Road Construction Department.
After this, the Chief Minister inspected the site of the six-lane Greenfield bridge and approach road under construction on the river Ganga. During the inspection, the Chief Minister took stock of the work under construction from Patna-Bakhtiyarpur.
4-lane bypass (NH-30) to Raghopur. During this, the officials apprised the Chief Minister about the progress and updated status of the under-construction six-lane Greenfield bridge and approach road. While giving instructions to the officials, the Chief Minister said that the construction work of the six-lane Greenfield bridge and approach road should be completed within the stipulated time frame by speeding up. Take special care that the construction work is done in a better manner. The people of North Bihar will get a lot of benefit from the construction of this six-lane Greenfield bridge and approach road, it will make traffic easier.
It is known that an 8-lane greenfield bridge and approach road is being constructed on the Ganga river by Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited under the Road Construction Department at a cost of Rs 4988.40 crore. The total length of this road is 19.76 km, in which the length of the bridge is 9.76 km and the length of the approach road is 10 km. This road starts from Patna-Bakhtiyarpur 4 lane bypass (NH-30) near Kachchi Dargah in Patna district and goes up to Kalyanpur (Chak Sikandar) NH-103/322 in Vaishali district. The work on this project was started on 18 January, 2017. In the first phase of the 6-lane green field bridge and approach road under construction on the river Ganga, the road from Patna to Raghopur Diara is targeted to be completed by April 2025, in the second phase, the construction of Hajipur-Mahanar road (NH-122B) to National Highway (103/322) is targeted to be completed by June 2025 and in the third phase, the project from Raghopur Diara to Hajipur-Mahanar road is targeted to be completed by December 2025. With the construction of this road, an additional road connectivity will be available for movement between South Bihar and North Bihar. Especially the residents of Raghopur Diara will also get road facility throughout the year.
