Bihar Deploys 397 Junior Engineers to Boost Urban Infrastructure, Expedite Metro and Civic Projects
State government intensifies focus on development, assigns engineers across Patna Metro, municipal bodies, and key missions to enhance urban amenities and meet 2025 goals.;
The Bihar government has taken a big step with the aim of strengthening the urban infrastructure and speeding up development works. The Urban Development and Housing Department has posted 397 junior engineers in various municipal bodies, BUDCO, Bihar Housing Board, Patna Metro Rail Corporation. The responsibility of these engineers will be to properly implement various schemes and projects running in the urban areas of the state. This will accelerate the development of urban infrastructure.
To speed up the work of Patna Metro, 11 civil, 04 electrical and 04 mechanical engineers have been deployed there.
It is worth noting that the government is committed to start the priority corridor of Patna Metro by 15 August 2025. In view of this, the government has also deployed engineers in PMRC as a priority.
Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department, Shri Jivesh Kumar has said that the posting of 397 engineers will further accelerate the work of schemes like Samrat Ashok Bhawan, Administrative Building, Jal Jeevan Hariyali Mission. This big step of the Bihar government will improve the quality of drainage, roads, drains, drinking water supply, building construction and other infrastructure. Along with this, urban citizens will also get better facilities. He said that we are constantly working to strengthen and empower the urban infrastructure.
These engineers have been reinstated by Bihar Technical Service Commission. Engineers from electrical, mechanical and civil branches have been posted in it. According to the notification issued by the department, 12 JEs from the electrical branch and 35 JEs from the mechanical branch have been posted. Also, 350 junior engineers have been posted from the civil branch.
All engineers have been ordered to join the newly posted office within a week from the date of issuance of the order with other necessary certificates including educational qualification and residential.
