The Bihar cabinet has approved the creation of 27,370 new government positions across multiple departments, with the health sector receiving the largest allocation of 20,016 posts through the formation of new "Public Health Cadre" and "Hospital Management Cadre" structures.

The wide-ranging employment initiative includes 3,306 assistant Urdu translator positions to be deployed across state offices including districts, sub-divisions, blocks, and circles. These positions will be filled according to the "Bihar State Urdu Translator Cadre Rules, 2016."

Additionally, the agriculture department will add 2,590 clerk positions, while six new permanent excise chemical laboratories will be established in the districts of Rohtas, Aurangabad, West Champaran, Begusarai, Kishanganj, and Gopalganj, creating 48 specialized posts.

Other approvals include 35 data entry operator positions for the Bihar Staff Selection Commission and 36 positions for the 50-bed integrated Ayush hospital in Patna.

The cabinet also endorsed the "Bihar Education Administrative Cadre Rules 2025" to improve school quality through enhanced monitoring. Under this system, assistant education development officers will inspect schools across every 10 panchayats, with district-level oversight from education development officers.

In financial matters, the Bihar Contingency Fund will see a dramatic increase from Rs 350 crore to Rs 10,000 crore until March 2026. The cabinet also extended the Bihar Industrial Incentive Policy 2016 until the new 2025 policy takes effect.

S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department, confirmed that the cabinet approved a total of 27 decisions across various departments during the meeting.
