Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reviewed the preparations for Pitripaksha Mela-2024 at a meeting held at the Gaya district administration office. He also inaugurated several projects, including an alternative approach path to the Vishnupad Temple and an integrated drainage system.
The Chief Minister began his day by offering prayers at the Vishnupad Temple and wishing for the state's prosperity and peace. He then inaugurated the alternative approach path to the temple, which will provide easier access to devotees. The path, which starts from the Manpur bridge, will also connect the temple to NH-82, reducing congestion on the narrow roads leading to the temple.
Kumar also laid the foundation stone for several other projects, including a box drain-cum-road construction project from Ghughari Tand to the Falgu river bank, a PCC path/nala construction project from NH-82 to the Vishnupad Temple, and a road widening and strengthening project from the Bengal Ashram to NH-82.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the preparations for Pitripaksha Mela-2024, which is scheduled to take place from September 17 to October 2. He instructed officials to ensure proper arrangements for devotees, including cleanliness, sanitation, water supply, health facilities, and traffic management.
Kumar also emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the Gaya region, which attracts devotees from across the country and abroad. He instructed officials to ensure that the region is kept clean and free of encroachments.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, and district officials.
