DPSRU to Host International Conference on Innovations in Advanced Drug Research

Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), in collaboration with the DPSRU Innovation and Incubation Foundation (DIIF), is gearing up to host the International Conference on Innovations in Advanced Drug Research (ICIADR-2024) on December 9 and 10, 2024. The event will take place at the G.K. Narayanan Auditorium, DPSRU campus, New Delhi, and is set out to bring together academicians, entrepreneurs, and industry experts to help transform academic research into real-world solutions

With its state-of-the-art facilities and global partnerships, DPSRU continues to uplift the entrepreneurial boom in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.

ICIADR-2024 is expected to set new benchmarks in healthcare innovation, creating a focal point between global expertise and national talent.

Focus on Key Themes

The conference, convened by Prof. V. Ravichandiran, Vice-Chancellor of DPSRU and Chairman of DIIF, and co-convened by Prof. Harvinder Popli, Director DIIF, is organized to foster collaboration among academia, industry, and startups.

Key themes include translational research and commercialization, healthcare entrepreneurship and innovation, pharmaceutical technology, precision medicine, and sustainable healthcare solutions. The event aims to encourage attendees to transform their innovative ideas into practical, market-ready solutions.

The two-day conference features a distinguished lineup of speakers, including renowned and distinguished academicians and industry leaders Dr. Rajiv Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India, Centeral Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) will be gracing us as the Chief Guest.

Ms. Alice Vaz, Principal Secretary or Secretary, Technical Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi will be joining as the guest of eminence.

Dr Manish Diwan, Mission Director, Make in India Biotech Sector, Department of Biotechnology will deliver the key note address. Dr RK Bharti, Joint director MSME Development Organization will be joining in as the special guest.

The event will also host Dr. Raj K. Shirumalla, Mission Director, Program Management Unit - National Biopharma Mission, BIRAC, New Delhi, who will discuss policies promoting innovation in healthcare as a special guest, along with Dr. C.N. Ramchand, CEO of MagGenome Technologies, as the Guest of Honor.

The conference will feature an impressive line up of international speakers from Auburn University, including distinguished experts like Dr. Jayachandra Babu Ramapuram, Dr. Elizabeth Lipke, Dr. Timothy Moore, Dr. Rajesh Amin, Dr. Meenakshi Singh who will share groundbreaking research in areas such as computer-aided drug design, novel therapies for Alzheimer’s, 3D printing technologies, and advanced biomaterials. Complementing these academic insights, the event will host industry leaders like Dr. Ashish Arora from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Ms. Arushi Jain from Akums Drugs and pharmaceuticals ltd, who will provide actionable perspectives on bridging research and commercialization. Together, these speakers promise a comprehensive view of innovation, from discovery to market implementation.

Organized under the guidance of co-convenor Prof. Harvinder Popli, Director of DIIF, and Prof. P.K. Sahoo, Registrar of DPSRU, ICIADR-2024 will conduct sessions on emerging technologies, entrepreneurial strategies, and significance industry-academia teamwork.

A unique feature of the conference is its focus on empowering young researchers and its aim to help provide funding to deserving entrepreneurs. The DIIF, renowned for supporting over 33 startups will offer mentoring and incubation support to participants who aim to commercialize their research.

Dr. Minakshi Garg and Ms. Ruchi Singh Neekhra, conference coordinators, emphasized the importance of providing resources and guidance to early-stage innovators.
