WhatsApp to Allow Pinning Two Channels Simultaneously for Android Beta Testers
Meta-owned messaging app introduces new feature to enhance user experience and channel management.
Social media platform WhatsApp is working on several features to improve the channel experience for its users. Now according to a new report, a feature is going to come in WhatsApp, a subsidiary of Meta, with the help of which users will be able to pin two channels simultaneously. This feature can prove to be very useful for the users.
According to the report of WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started giving the facility to pin two channels within the app itself. Currently this feature is available for Android beta testers and it can be used in version number 2.24.13.3 of the app. The report states that "Through this update, WhatsApp is trying to give users more control over their channel interactions. Keeping pinned channels at the top will make it easier to find important or frequently watched content."
During beta testing, users will get a new feature to pin two channels at the top of the channel list. To pin a channel, the user just has to select that channel and then select the pin option appearing in the app bar above. Once pinned, the channel will be fixed at the top, so that whenever users open the Updates tab, they will easily see that channel at the top.
Users can also select multiple channels at once and use actions like mute, mark as read or pin on them simultaneously. The report states that "By pinning their favorite channels to the top of the list, users will be able to see them easily. This will not only save their time but will also improve the navigation experience within the app and provide more convenience to the users."
