Prime Minister Inaugurates India Mobile Congress 2023: Paves the Way for India's Technological Future

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the beginning of the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023, the largest telecom, media, and technology forum in Asia, with a grand inauguration ceremony at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. The event, which is scheduled to take place from October 27th to 29th, 2023, has the theme "Global Digital Innovation" and aims to strengthen India's position as a developer, manufacturer, and exporter of cutting-edge technologies on the global stage.

 

On this momentous occasion, the Prime Minister awarded 100 "5G Use Case Labs" to educational institutions across the country, a significant step towards advancing India's technological prowess.

 

Prominent industry leaders, including Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd; Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Enterprises; and Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, graced the event with their presence.

 

In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the transformative potential of the 7th India Mobile Congress in the 21st century. He underlined the rapid pace of technological advancements, proclaiming, "The future is here and now." The Prime Minister lauded the exhibition curated for the event, offering glimpses of the future in telecom, technology, and connectivity. He specifically mentioned the significance of fields such as 6G, AI, cyber security, semiconductors, drones, space exploration, deep-sea technology, green tech, and more. He emphasized, "The future is going to be entirely different, and it brings joy to see our young generation leading this technological revolution."

 

The "100 5G labs initiative" represents an earnest effort to harness the potential of 5G technology by encouraging the development of 5G applications tailored to both India's unique requirements and global demands. This initiative is poised to drive innovation across various socioeconomic sectors, including education, agriculture, health, power, and transportation, positioning India at the forefront of 5G technology adoption.
