Sisodia to be Released After 17 Months in Jail; Supreme Court Imposes Conditions Including Passport Surrender and Non-Interference with Witnesses

Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is in jail in the alleged Delhi liquor scam, has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The court has granted bail to Sisodia.
Manish Sisodia will have to deposit a bail bond of 10 lakhs and two sureties. After this, he will be released from jail. It is believed that Sisodia will soon come out of Tihar Jail.
The Supreme Court imposed a condition and directed Sisodia to submit his passport and not influence the witnesses. The Supreme Court said that the statement of ASG regarding the completion of the trial is contradictory. Sisodia has been in jail for 17 months. The trial has not started. Sisodia's right to a speedy trial has been violated.
