The second division-level contest of the Mukhyamantri Khel Gyanotsav 2025 witnessed an intense battle of knowledge and quick thinking at Zila School, Muzaffarpur, on Thursday. Displaying remarkable teamwork, Kundan Kumar and Ankit Kumar, both Class 8 students from Nehru Middle School, Bettiah, clinched the first position in the Tirhut Division Finals of the prestigious state-level sports quiz contest.

Following closely behind, Ankit Kumar and Chandu Kumar, both Class 9 students from UHS Hilalpur, Vaishali, secured second place. Meanwhile, Sona Kumari and Soni Kumari, Class 9 students from Kamla Girls' High School, Dumra, Sitamarhi, finished in third place.

These three teams will now advance to the grand finale of the state-level quiz competition.

A total of 20 teams from Muzaffarpur, West Champaran, East Champaran, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, and Sheohar—who qualified based on their performance in the online rounds—competed in the Tirhut Division Finals. The event kicked off with a written preliminary round, followed by engaging on-stage rounds. The competition was conducted by Aniket Mishra, an internationally acclaimed sports writer and quiz master.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh, IAS, and Chairman of RERA, who motivated students with his inspiring words. Other dignitaries present were Mr. Shreshtha Anupam, IAS, DDC Muzaffarpur, Mr. Rajendra Kumar, DSO, and Mr. Jibu Jha, Principal of Zila School, Muzaffarpur.

The third offline contest under the second stage of the Mukhyamantri Khel Gyanotsav is scheduled to be held in Saran on April 4, 2025.

Mukhyamantri Khel Gyanotsav is a three-stage quiz competition comprising four online rounds, nine offline division-level finals, and an offline state finale. Open to students from both government and private schools, the contest features two-member teams. Participants shortlisted from the online round—conducted from March 24 to March 27, 2025—are now competing in the division finals. The grand state-level finale is set to take place on April 17, 2025, in Patna.
