Let us tell you that this was announced by the then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in 2019 itself. The construction of the South Coast Railway Zone will promote connectivity in the entire region and will provide great convenience to the people here.
At the same time, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the ambitious redevelopment project of Visakhapatnam Railway Station about two years ago. This project of the Rail Land Development Authority costing Rs 446 crore is also considered important because Visakhapatnam is soon going to become the headquarters of the new South Coast Railway Zone. Based on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), this project aims to provide world-class facilities to the passengers.
