Sam Pitroda on Rahul Gandhi: A Stronger Leader with Strategic Acumen

Longtime Gandhi family loyalist Sam Pitroda said in an interview that Rahul Gandhi is more intelligent than his father Rajiv Gandhi. Pitroda said that he is also better than him in terms of making strategy. He said that Rajiv Gandhi believed more in work, while Rahul Gandhi is more adept at making strategy. Pitroda said that Rahul Gandhi has struggled a lot to maintain his real image.

He said that Rahul Gandhi had to face big challenges like the death of his grandmother and father, which made him a strong and wise leader. Despite the attacks on Rahul Gandhi's image, Pitroda believes that now people have started understanding his real personality. Pitroda rejected the allegations of the BJP, which said that Rahul Gandhi had criticized the Indian government during foreign trips.

He said that criticizing the government is not a criticism of India, but it is the job of the leader of the opposition. On the question of Congress leaders' view that Rahul Gandhi is suitable for the post of Prime Minister if Congress comes to power, Pitroda said that he agrees with this view, but ultimately the party has to decide on this issue. Asked whether he sees the qualities of becoming the Prime Minister in Rahul in the future, Pitroda asserted, "Absolutely, there is no doubt about it."

On being asked about BJP's attacks on Rahul and Congress over critical comments against the government on his previous foreign trips, Pitroda said that in this era when communication has become instant and physical distance has no meaning, then no event remains local. He said, "Every local event becomes a global event, the incident of the burning of the church in France is no longer just a French event, but it is a global event.”

Regarding Rahul Gandhi, Pitroda believes that he has all the qualities to become the Prime Minister. He is an educated, civilized and capable leader, who has always promoted democracy. However, Pitroda also said that Rahul Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister will depend on the decision of the people of India and the Congress party.
