Did Playback Singing for Aamir Khan; Now for Son Junaid; Nakash Aziz Considers Himself Lucky
With the song 'Loveyapa Ho Gaya' from Loveyapa, Nakash Wins Hearts Again, Calls Singing for Junaid a Special and Unique Experience.;
Nakash Aziz, a renowned singer and composer of the Indian music industry, is known for his great voice and passionate style. In 2024, he rocked the title track of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule. Now, starting 2025 on a great note, Nakash has once again won the hearts of listeners with the song ‘Loveyapa Ho Gaya’ from the film Loveyapa starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. The song is being loved for its freshness and beautiful presentation of love across generations. This is a special occasion for Nakash as it reminded him of the early days of his career.
Talking about his first singing experience, Nakash says, “I sang my first song 'Papa Kehte Hain' from the film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' on my school's Annual Day in Aurangabad. I fell in love with Udit Narayan's voice for Aamir Khan in the film and it increased the impact of the overall experience of watching Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak on the big screen as a three-and-a-half-year-old kid. I never dreamt of singing for Aamir Khan until I got the chance to do so for the Telugu version of Thugs of Hindostan.”
Nakash revealed that since Aamir had announced that he might soon retire from acting, he felt the chances of singing playback for him were slim. "I was deeply saddened because he is an actor whose films have always left me spellbound, and I always wanted to sing for him. It is truly a blessing from God that I got the opportunity to sing for Junaid through the brilliant new-age music of Sachin-Jigar and the words of my partner-in-crime and innovative collaborator, Amitabh Bhattacharya. I am incredibly happy about it."
Talking about bringing freshness and naughtiness to the song, Nakash says, “When I was in Goa for a show, I got a call from Sachin-Jigar’s studio and they asked me if I could sing this song. He felt it needed a lot more fun and madness along with a lot more vocal arrangement. As soon as I heard the track, I got excited to try all kinds of new things. It felt right to me and I had a lot of fun working on it. I recorded it in parts and we converted our hotel room into a studio and stayed up all night jamming in Goa and then in my studio in Mumbai too.”
