‘Gyanvapi Files’ set for release after Kashmir and Kerala Files; Vijay Raaz in the lead role

Films like 'Kashmir Files' and 'Kerala Files' did great business at the box office and shocked the audience with their story. Now another film in the same genre is going to be released in theaters soon - 'Gyanvapi Files'.

The poster of the film was released on Wednesday, in which Bollywood's strong actor Vijay Raj is seen in the lead role. He plays the character of tailor Kanhaiya Lal Tailor in the film. The film is based on the brutal murder of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in June 2022.

The filmmakers announced it on social media and wrote, "Witness a story that needs to be told - Gyanvapi Files: The story of the murder of a tailor. In theaters on June 27."

It is worth noting that in June 2022, tailor Kanhaiya Lal was brutally murdered in broad daylight by two assailants in Udaipur. After the murder, the attackers had released a video confessing to the crime, in which they said that it was revenge for Kanhaiya Lal's social media post, in which he supported former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Nupur Sharma's remarks on Prophet Muhammad had caused a huge controversy across the country.

Vijay Raj, who is playing the lead role in this film, started his career in 1999 with 'Bhopal Express'. He got real recognition from the character of 'Dubey ji' in the 2001 film 'Monsoon Wedding'. After this, his comic timing in 'Run' (2004) and 'Dhamaal' (2007) was highly appreciated.

Vijay Raj is also known for films like 'Delhi Belly', 'Dedh Ishqiya', 'Stree' (2018), 'Gully Boy', 'Lootcase' and 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. In 2014, he also tried his hand at direction with 'Kya Dilli Kya Lahore'.

Now, Vijay Raj will be seen in the role of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in 'Gyanvapi Files'. This film is going to be released in theaters on June 27.
