IPL 2025 Mega Auction: 13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Set to Make History

Youngest Player in IPL Auction History, Bihar’s Prodigy Brings Stellar U-19 Record Amid Age Controversy, with a Base Price of ₹30 Lakh.

The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This time many young cricketers will also try their luck in the auction. This includes 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He is the youngest cricketer to participate in the auction.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born after IPL 2008. He is the only player in this auction who was born after the first season of IPL. Vaibhav plays domestic cricket from Bihar. He made his first class debut for Bihar in January this year. In this match, he scored 31 runs in both innings combined. By doing this, he became the second youngest cricketer to play Ranji Trophy for Bihar and the fourth youngest overall.

He has scored 100 runs in 5 matches (10 innings) for Bihar so far, with his highest score being 41 runs. Vaibhav had a stellar performance in the recent Under-19 Test matches against Australia, where he scored a century in 58 balls, which was the fastest century for India in Under-19 cricket. India won this match. However, there is some controversy over his age, as he said in an interview in 2023 that he will turn 14 on September 27, 2023, making him one and a half years older than the officially stated age.

Suryavanshi has a base price of Rs 30 lakh and he will be seen in Set 68, his list serial number is 491. The two-day mega auction will start on Sunday, November 24. It will be broadcasted live on Star Sports Network.
