Agriculture Minister Shri Mangal Pandey Reviews State Agricultural Schemes at Krishi Bhawan
Focus on Expanding Horticulture, Roof Gardening, and Climate-Friendly Initiatives to Benefit Farmers Across Bihar.
The Agriculture Minister of the state, Shri Mangal Pandey held a review meeting with the departmental officials at Krishi Bhawan in Mithapur. In the meeting, he reviewed the various agricultural schemes being run in the state in the current financial year and gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officials. Shri Pandey took updated information from the officials present about the progress of the horticulture development programs being run in the current financial year. The Agriculture Minister reviewed many schemes including the scheme related to promoting commercial cultivation of horticultural crops in the state by the Agriculture Department, Makhana Development Scheme under State Scheme in the financial year 2024-25, Beekeeping and Honey Production Program Scheme, Mango Development Scheme under Chief Minister Horticulture Mission.
Shri Pandey said that our goal is to reach the schemes being run by the Agriculture Department to every farmer of the state, so that the farmers of our state can become happy and prosperous. The Agriculture Department is constantly making efforts to ensure that the farmers of the state get the full benefit of agricultural schemes. While giving special emphasis on the pots and farming bed scheme under roof gardening from the state scheme, he said that information about this scheme being run with the objective of promoting the production of fruits, flowers and vegetables on the roof of the house in urban areas should be made available to as many people as possible. To make its benefits available to the people, supply of pots along with plants should be ensured at low prices in four districts of the state. The benefit of the scheme can be availed by the people of Patna Sadar, Danapur, Phulwari and Khagaul of the capital and the urban areas of Bhagalpur, Gaya and Muzaffarpur districts for now. Under this scheme, those people who have their own house or flat in an apartment and have 300 square feet of space on their roof can avail the benefit. In the case of own house, 300 square feet of empty space on the roof which is free from any interference and in the case of apartment, the benefit of this scheme can be availed by obtaining a no objection certificate from the registered society of the apartment. In the scheme, the unit cost of 300 square feet per unit is Rs 48,574 and the grant is 75 percent i.e. Rs 36430.50 and the remaining Rs 12143.50 will be payable by the beneficiary.
In the review meeting, the Agriculture Minister also reviewed many schemes including Tubewell Scheme, Seed Spices and Drumstick Scheme, Vegetable Development Scheme under State Scheme and Onion Storage Structure and Makhana Storage House Construction. The Agriculture Minister also took information about the progress of the schemes running under Bihar State Organic Mission including Climate Friendly Agriculture Program, recently started Drone Didi Scheme, Rain Based Agriculture Schemes and Plant Protection and Subsidy. At the same time, the Agriculture Minister directed the officials present to implement the Private Irrigation Well Construction Scheme, Prime Minister Agriculture Scheme and other welfare agriculture schemes on a war footing.
In the review meeting, Secretary of Agriculture Department Sanjay Agarwal, MD of Bihar State Seed Corporation Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Special Secretary Virendra Yadav, Personal Secretary to Agriculture Minister Amitabh Singh and many officers and officials were present.
