Aamir Khan wanted to play the role of ‘Thanedaar’ in the film 'Laapataa Ladies'. This character is played by Ravi Kishan in the film. During an interview, Aamir Khan said, "I wanted to do a role in the film, but Kiran said, 'You are a very big star, my film is small, you will spoil it'". To this Aamir had said, "At least let me do a screen test, we will see if I am right for this role or not. That's why, I gave the screen test". However, later Aamir realised that he was a big star and his presence in the film would increase people's expectations.
