Sanju Samson: A Look at His Life and Cricket Career

Sanju Viswanath Samson was born on November 11, 1994, in Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
His father, Samson Viswanath, was a police constable, and his mother, Lijy Viswanath, is a homemaker. He has two elder brothers.
Samson made his debut in domestic cricket for Kerala in 2011 at the age of 16. He quickly gained attention for his batting prowess.
He was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 but made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals in 2013. He has since been a key player for the Royals and has also played for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).
He made his international debut for India in a T20I against Zimbabwe in July 2015. However, he had to wait until 2020 to make his ODI debut, which came against Sri Lanka.
While known for his batting, Samson is also a competent wicketkeeper and has taken some impressive catches behind the stumps.
Samson became the youngest cricketer to captain a side in the IPL when he led the Rajasthan Royals in 2018 at the age of 23 years and 142 days.
He scored his first IPL century in 2017, becoming the first Indian to achieve this feat in the IPL. He has also scored centuries in domestic cricket.
Samson is married to Charulatha Remesh, whom he wed in December 2018.
