New FASTag Rules Mandate KYC Update for 3-Year-Old Tags from August 1

In today's era, the number of car drivers is increasing continuously. If you drive a car, then it is obvious that you must also take care of Fastag. The use of Fastag has become necessary for every car driver. If you do not have Fastag, then you may have to face many problems at the toll plaza. But new rules have been implemented by NPCI i.e. National Payment Corporation of India regarding Fastag. These new rules have come into effect from 1st August i.e. today. According to the new rules, it is necessary to get the KYC of Fastag done. However, these include those Fastags which are 3 years old. But if you have not yet got the KYC of Fastag done, then know here how you can do it offline or online.

These documents are required for FASTag KYC

  • Password
  • Voter ID
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Driving License
  • PAN Card
  • NREGA Job Card
  • RC of the vehicle apart from KYC document

How to Get KYC done

  • Go to IHMCL Fastag portal
  • Login through mobile number
  • Click on My Profile
  • Check KYC status
  • Click on KYC tab and select customer type
  • Give necessary details including ID proof, address

KYC can be updated offline as well

According to RBI guidelines, apart from online, KYC can also be updated offline. For this, you will have to talk to the bank issuing the Fastag. You will have to go to the bank branch and fill the application form. After this, the details will be updated by the bank in your Fastag account.

These people have to get KYC updated

Please note that those people whose Fastag is 3 years old, it is necessary for them to get KYC updated in Fastag. Apart from this, people whose Fastag has become 5 years old will have to replace it. Apart from this, there are some other rules which have come into effect from today.
