Virat Kohli becomes the first Indian to score 4,000 international runs against England

Indian cricket team's veteran batsman Virat Kohli played an innings of 52 runs during the third ODI of the series against the England cricket team. Meanwhile, Kohli completed his 4,000 runs in international cricket against this team. He has become the first Indian batsman to score 4,000 runs against England in all formats of the game.

Kohli has now become the sixth batsman in the world to score 4,000 international runs against England. Before him, Australia's Don Bradman (5,028), Allan Border (4,850), Steve Smith (4,815), Ricky Ponting (4,141) and West Indies' Viv Richards (4,488) had done so. Among Indian batsmen, after Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar had scored 3,990 international runs against England with an average of 48.65.

Kohli played an innings of 52 runs in 55 balls. He hit 7 fours and a six in his half-century innings. Meanwhile, while playing in Asia, Kohli completed his 16,000 runs in international cricket. While playing in Asia, he has scored 16,025 runs in 340 international innings with an average of 56.82. He has become only the fourth batsman to touch this figure in Asia. Before him, Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene had done so.

Kohli has played 47 international matches against England, scoring more than 4,000 runs in 109 innings with an average of almost 40. Meanwhile, he has scored 24 half-centuries and 8 centuries. Kohli has scored 1,397 runs in ODIs against England. At the same time, he scored 1,991 runs against this team in Test format and 648 runs in T20 internationals.
