He also hit 9 sixes in that match. His strike rate was 152.60. This is also the best score in the history of ODI. Rohit is the only player who has hit 30 or more fours in an innings of ODI cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag (25-25 boundaries)
Former Indian team legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are jointly second on the list. Both have hit 25-25 fours in an innings. Tendulkar hit so many fours against the South African cricket team during his 200 innings. This was also the first double-century in ODI cricket history. Sehwag hit 25 fours during his 219-run innings against the West Indies. The Indian team won both the matches.
Five players with 24 boundaries in one innings
Sanath Jayasuriya, Martin Guptill, David Warner, Fakhar Zaman and Ishan Kishan are jointly third on the list. All these players have hit 24-24 fours in an innings. Jayasuriya did this feat against the Netherlands in the year 2006. Guptill hit 24 fours during his 237 innings against West Indies. Warner and Fakhar hit 24 fours against South Africa and Ishan hit 210 against Bangladesh.
Calum MacLeod (23 fours)
Scotland cricket team batsman Calum MacLeod is fourth on this list. He hit 23 fours against the Afghanistan cricket team in 2018. This player faced 164 balls and scored 157 runs. He also hit 1-six in his innings. Scotland won that match by 7 wickets. It was a qualifier match for the ODI World Cup.
