Swapnil Kusale's Paris Olympics Bronze Medal Unlocks Long-Awaited Promotion in Railway

Swapnil Kusale's bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 has not only given crores of Indians a reason to be proud but has also helped move forward his promotion file stuck in the Central Railway office for years.

Swapnil, who has been working with the Central Railway since 2015, did not get a promotion even once, even though the shooter had repeatedly pleaded for it. Swapnil's coach Deepali Deshpande told the Times of India that he was very disappointed with the attitude of his office.

He has been working with the railways for the last 9 years, but he was never considered eligible for promotion. However, Central Railway Assistant Sports Officer Ranjit Maheshwari told the Times of India that the Paris bronze medalist will get a double promotion by Friday i.e. today. He said, “This is wrong information. His promotion was not stopped.”

He further said, “We have spoken to the General Manager and hope that he will get a double promotion in two days.”

His colleagues in the railways also said that Swapnil was hurt in the office by the behavior of his superiors.
