N Jagadeesan's explosive performance: Six consecutive fours in a single over, created a record in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Tamil Nadu opener N Jagadeesan created a stir by hitting six consecutive fours in a single over during the Vijay Hazare Trophy pre-quarterfinal match against Rajasthan at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Thursday. The explosive innings of the wicketkeeper-batsman gave Tamil Nadu a great start while chasing the target of 268 runs. 29 runs were scored in this over, as the first ball was wide and went for a four after missing the wicketkeeper.

Facing Rajasthan fast bowler Aman Singh Shekhawat in the second over of the innings, Jagadeesan batted brilliantly and scored 29 runs for the team. The over started with a four on a wide delivery, after which Jagadeesan created history by hitting six fours on six consecutive balls of Shekhawat. This explosive performance set the direction of Tamil Nadu's run chase and Jagadeesan soon completed his half-century with the help of nine fours in 33 balls.

The Tamil Nadu batsman was finally dismissed after scoring 65 runs off 52 balls, which included 10 fours. Regarding the match, Rajasthan batted first against Tamil Nadu and scored 267 runs. Rajasthan's innings progressed with a brilliant partnership of 160 runs for the second wicket between centurion Abhijeet Tomar (111 off 125 balls) and captain Mahipal Lomror (60 off 49 balls). But later the team collapsed.
Rajasthan lost nine wickets for 83 runs
Rajasthan was moving towards a strong score with figures of 184/1 in the 32nd over. However, Tamil Nadu's mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy changed the course of the game by taking five wickets. Varun ended Lomror's fast innings by bowling him and then dismissed Deepak Hooda (7) and Tomar in quick succession to bring Rajasthan to 209/4 in the 36th over. Rajasthan's innings collapsed from a strong position, losing their last nine wickets for just 83 runs in 16.1 overs.
