Jay Shah Calls Cricket's Inclusion in Olympics 2028 a Major Achievement in First Statement as ICC Chairman

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah will now be seen in a new role. He has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). With this decision, India's dominance in world cricket has increased. Jay Shah can now replace Greg Barclay.

Jay Shah's first reaction came after becoming the ICC Chairman. In his statement, he also talked about the inclusion of cricket in the next Olympics in 2028. He said that the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics is a big achievement. With its help, cricket will get global recognition.

Jay Shah said, 'I am grateful to be the President of the International Cricket Council. I am committed to working for cricket along with the ICC team and its members. At present, it is important to promote different formats of cricket.'

He also talked about bringing new technology to cricket. Jay Shah said, 'I will try to bring new technology to cricket, as well as try to take events like the World Cup to global markets.'

Jay Shah said that he will work to give global recognition to cricket, in which the Olympics will prove to be very helpful. He said, 'Cricket's inclusion in the Olympics 2028 is a big achievement. We will give it global recognition through the Olympics and try to reach more countries.'

In a statement issued by the ICC, it was said, 'Jay Shah was elected unopposed as the new chairman of the ICC. Jay Shah has been the secretary of BCCI since October 2019 and the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) since 2021. He will assume this post (ICC chairman) from December 1. He was the only candidate after former chairman Greg Barclay withdrew from the election.'
