Indian Team Honors Late Cricketer David Johnson in T20 World Cup Match

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team came out to play its first match in the Super-8 of T20 World Cup 2024 on Thursday (June 20). His family consists of his wife and two children. Johnson was running a cricket academy near his house, but was unwell for some time.

Right-arm fast bowler David Johnson played two Test matches for India. During this, he took 3 wickets at an average of 47.66. Johnson did not get a chance to play ODI matches for India. Johnson made his international debut in the year 1996 through the Delhi Test against Australia. He got a chance in that match due to Javagal Srinath's injury. David Johnson represented Karnataka in domestic cricket.

He played 39 first class and 33 List A matches. In first class cricket, he took 125 wickets at an average of 28.63 and a strike rate of 47.4. He also scored a century in first class cricket. While Johnson took 41 wickets in List A matches. In the year 2015, he was seen playing in the Karnataka Premier League.
