India to Host 2025 Men's Asia Cup, Pakistan Expected to Participate

Pakistan is to host the Champions Trophy 2025, and the Indian team's tour of Pakistan is still uncertain. Meanwhile, a big news has come out that the Pakistan cricket team may tour India next year. The reason behind this is the hosting of Asia Cup 2025.

According to reports, India will host the 2025 Men's Asia Cup. The tournament will be played in a 50-over format, in which 6 teams will participate: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and the sixth team will be decided from the qualifying round. In such a situation, Pakistan will have to tour India next year. Let us tell you, the 2023 Asia Cup was played under the hosting of Pakistan. Then Team India did not go to Pakistan, due to which the tournament took place on a hybrid model.

According to the IEOI document released by the Asia Cricket Council, India will host the Men's Asia Cup in 2025, which will be played in T20 format. At the same time, the 2027 Asia Cup will be hosted by Bangladesh and it will be played in ODI format. 13 matches will be played in both these editions. The document also states that all these information including schedule, date, format and venue can also be changed by the Asia Cricket Council.

The Asia Cup started in 1984, and so far 16 editions of this tournament have been played. But India has hosted the Asia Cup only once. India hosted the Asia Cup in 1990/91, then India won this tournament. In such a situation, the 2025 Asia Cup is going to be very special because this tournament will be played in India after 34 years.

Team India is the most successful team of this tournament, which has won the Asia Cup title 8 times so far. At the same time, Sri Lanka is second in this list with 6 titles. Pakistan's team has been able to become the champion of Asia Cup only 2 times. The last Asia Cup was also in the name of India, where Team India defeated Sri Lanka in the final.

Thus, Pakistan team’s tour to India is in the news due to hosting of Asia Cup 2025 and it can be very exciting for the cricket lovers.
