CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Prestigious Asian Women's Hockey Championship Trophy in Rajgir
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the Asian Women's Hockey Championship Trophy organized at the State Sports Academy and Bihar Sports University-cum-State Sports Complex in Rajgir by releasing a balloon.
On this occasion, the national anthem of all the participating countries was played in the hockey sports complex. Women hockey team players of 6 countries India, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, China and Thailand are participating in this championship.
Players and spectators of all countries looked very excited and thrilled in the program.
The Chief Minister accepted the greetings of all the players and spectators by waving his hand. Women hockey captains of all the countries took a group photo with the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also visited the gallery. Mythical Rajgir and developed Bihar have been mentioned in the gallery in the languages of all the countries. Information about many other important schemes including State Sports Academy, Ganga Water Supply Scheme, Rajgir-Zoo-Safari, Nature Safari, Convention Center, Malmas Mela, Rajgir Integrated Building has also been mentioned in the gallery.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the athletic track and football ground constructed in the Rajgir Sports Academy-cum-Sports University campus. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the athletic track and football ground.
The Chief Minister also inspected the basketball ground built in the Rajgir Sports Complex and took information from the officials regarding the accommodation and other facilities being provided. The Chief Minister also inspected the office of Bihar Sports University and the administrative building of the State Sports Academy. During this, the Registrar, Controller of Examinations and Vice Chancellor's room were also seen.
It is noteworthy that for the first time in Bihar, the international level 'Bihar Women's Asian Champions Trophy' is being organized, in which women hockey teams of India, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand are participating.
This competition is being organized in a grand manner from 11 November to 20 November in the hockey ground of Rajgir Sports Complex. This competition is being organized under the joint aegis of Sports Department, Bihar State Sports Authority, Hockey India and Asian Hockey Federation. It is a matter of great pride for Bihar that this international level competition is being held in Bihar for the first time.
Special arrangements have been made for the security, accommodation, welcome and facilities of all the teams and players participating in this tournament. To make the players participating in the competition aware of the glorious and rich historical, spiritual and cultural heritage of Bihar, adequate arrangements have been made to take them to the famous tourist spots around Gaya and Rajgir.
