BIHAR WINS PRESTIGIOUS 'INDIA SPORTS AWARD 2024'
PATNA:Bihar has been conferred with the prestigious 'India Sports Award 2024' by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The award, given in the 'Emerging State Promoting Sports' category, recognizes Bihar's growing participation in sports, excellent efforts, and successful organization of international-level competitions.
The award was received by Shri Ravindra Shankaran, Director-General of the Bihar State Sports Authority, at a grand ceremony held at the FICCI Commission Hall in Delhi. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries and prominent personalities from the sports industry.
This achievement is a testament to Bihar's growing commitment to promoting sports and recognizing the state's efforts in developing sports infrastructure and encouraging young talent.
The 'India Sports Award 2024' is part of the FICCI TURF 2024: 14th Global Sports Summit. A jury of eminent personalities from the sports industry selected Bihar for this prestigious award.
The jury consisted of Charu Sharma, Co-Founder of the Pro Kabaddi League; Vijay Lokpally, renowned sports journalist; P.K.E.S. Sagar, Chairman of GMR Sports; Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice-Chairman of the Manav Rachna Group; Amrit Mathur, former General Manager of the Indian Cricket Team; Manjushree Dayanand, Executive Director of SAI; Deepak Jacob, Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Group General Counsel at Dream11; and Sonali Chander, sports anchor and journalist.
This award is a recognition of Bihar's efforts to promote sports and develop sports infrastructure in the state.
