BCCI's Earnings Soar to New Heights with IPL 2023, Reaching Rs 11,769 CroreThe Indian Premier League proved to be a boon for the BCCI. Since the start of the IPL, the income of the BCCI has increased significantly. The BCCI earned an additional Rs 5 thousand crore from IPL 2023 alone. This was revealed in a report.

The report further claims that the BCCI earned an additional Rs 5120 crore from IPL 2023, which is 116 per cent more than IPL 2022. The Board of Control for Cricket in India earned Rs 2367 crore from the 2022 IPL. According to the report, BCCI's total income from IPL 2023 stood at Rs 11,769 crore, an increase of 78 per cent year-on-year. According to the BCCI's 2022-23 annual report, expenditure has also increased by 66 per cent to Rs 6648 crore.

The report said that the increase in BCCI's earnings is due to new media rights and sponsorship deals. The new media rights deal for the 2023-27 cycle is worth Rs 48,390 crore. It started with IPL 2023. In 2021, IPL TV rights were bagged by Disney Star for Rs 23,575 crore (for 2023-27). Digital rights went to Jio Cinema for Rs 23,758 crore. IPL title rights were sold to Tata Sons for Rs 2500 crore.

The rest Rs 1,485 crore came into the coffers by selling associate sponsorships to MyCircle11, RuPay, Angel One and Ceat.
