Amresh Kumar Wins Bronze in State-Level Weightlifting, Highlights Success of Bihar's Ambedkar Residential Schools
In the second Bihar Cadet State Level Weightlifting Competition organized by Bihar State Sports Authority and Bihar State Weightlifting Association in Nawada district, Amresh Kumar, a class V student of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar 10+2 Residential School, Hathua (Gopalganj), run by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, brought laurels to his school and district by winning a bronze medal in the 50 kg weightlifting competition in the under-13 age group.
This is a proud moment for the students of the 91 Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Residential Schools run in the state. In these schools, students are being encouraged not only in education but also in sports and other co-curricular activities. With the initiative of the government and the efforts of dedicated trainers, students are constantly showcasing their talent.
A positive atmosphere has been created regarding sports in Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Residential Schools. The students of these schools are now performing excellently by making their presence felt in district and state level competitions. In recent times, many students have won medals at district and state level in various sports, which tells the success story of these schools.
The SC & ST Welfare Department is regularly monitoring these schools to provide more opportunities to the students in the field of sports. It is the priority of the department that every student gets an opportunity to showcase his/her skills and bring laurels to the state and the country.
