PM Narendra Modi says, "The Kerala Story," Charges Congress With "Supporting Terrorism"

The Congress, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been "kneeling" before terrorism to maintain its support base. At a campaign rally for his party, in Bellari, Karnataka, PM charged the age-old party with opposing the divisive movie "The Kerala Story," which according to him is based on a plot to commit terrorism. By attempting to outlaw this movie, Congress is, in his opinion, creating problem for forces who are defending terrorism.

These days, there are a lot of conversations about the movie "The Kerala Story," which is based on a terrorist conspiracy of this nature, he claimed, accusing the Congress of opposing the movie and supporting terrorism.

The PM began his statement by dismissing the pre-election polls showing a Congress advantage in the "May 10" Assembly elections in the southern state, calling them "disinformation".

Ever since the country's independence, the Congress has used corruption to rob its citizens. The Congress will "go to any extent for appeasement," he claimed, adding that the opposition is now employing a new strategy to deceive the electorate and win the election.

He emphasised the Congress's pledge to outlaw groups like the Bajrang Dal once more but avoided specifically mentioning the group.

"The support we are receiving makes the Congress tremble. When he said, "Jai Bajrangbali," he made the audience repeat the phrase several times with him, as he had done at his previous rally in the state.

The Congress pledged to outlaw organisations that foster enmity or hatred, whether among majority or minority communities in its manifesto for the elections in Karnataka, equating the banned Islamic group Popular Front of India (PFI) with Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of the Sangh-affiliated Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Throughout his speech, the prime minister repeatedly accused Congress of being soft on terrorism and making a "back door deal" with extremists.

BJP has always fought terrorism with vigour. But whenever a counterterrorism measure is implemented, Congress gets a stomach-ache. Today, terrorism is a concern for the entire world. We have endured this for a very long time. Terrorism is regressive and anti-human. Congress, however, has bowed to terrorists in order to preserve its own voter base. Can it safeguard Karnataka? said the PM.

The prime minister responded to the Congress' "40% commission" jabs about alleged corruption in state administration by claiming that Congress had long since acknowledged that it is an 85% commission party.

PM quoted Rajiv Gandhi, "When the federal government sends one rupee, only fifteen paise reaches the people". This indicates that Rajiv Gandhi acknowledged the Congress as an 85% commission party, the PM remarked.
