Empowered by Govt Schemes under the Leadership of CM Nitish Kumar, Anita Devi Transforms Her Life and Community in Basantpur - Here's How

In the heart of Basantpur village, Anita Devi has turned her passion for cooking into a thriving business that not only supports her family but also inspires her community. This transformation is a testament to the effective implementation of various government schemes under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, aimed at empowering the needy and fostering socio-economic development.

Anita's journey began two years ago, after the sudden passing of her husband due to cardiac arrest. Left as the sole provider for her three sons, two of whom are teenagers and one unemployed, Anita faced immense financial pressure. The need to educate her children and sustain her family fueled her entrepreneurial dreams. Despite having prior experience in making sweets for family occasions, setting up a business came with its own set of challenges.

With limited initial capital, Anita struggled to establish her sweet shop, Prem Misthan Bhandar. The unavailability of quality ingredients and competition from nearby sweet shops further added to her difficulties. However, Anita's determination and resourcefulness led her to secure a loan of Rs. 20,000 from the Suhani Self-Help Group (SHG), of which she has already repaid Rs. 15,000. Additionally, she received a PMFME Seed Capital loan of Rs. 40,000, which significantly bolstered her efforts.

These financial aids are part of the Bihar government's extensive efforts to support local entrepreneurs and uplift the community. Under CM Nitish Kumar's leadership, schemes like the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme have been instrumental in providing necessary resources and training to individuals like Anita, enabling them to realize their entrepreneurial dreams.

To set her sweets apart from competitors, Anita experimented with unique dishes like Parwal Mithai and Rabdi Lassi. Her innovative approach paid off, and she recently invested in a display counter to attract more customers. Today, Anita Devi serves high-quality products using fresh ingredients while maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. Her commitment to excellent customer service ensures that every visitor to Prem Misthan Bhandar enjoys a personalized and friendly experience.

Anita now earns Rs. 300-400 per day, translating to a monthly profit of Rs. 14,000. This income has provided her family with much-needed financial stability and improved their quality of life. Moreover, Anita's success has inspired other villagers, especially women, to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Looking ahead, Anita plans to expand her business by introducing lunch items like roti sabzi, daal roti, and daal chawal, along with bakery items such as cakes and pastries. Her journey exemplifies the transformative potential of entrepreneurship in rural communities, significantly supported by the Bihar government's initiatives.

Anita Devi's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the positive impact of government schemes. It serves as an inspiration for aspiring rural women to make a positive impact in their communities. The motto of the Bihar government, to uplift the needy through effective ground-level execution of various schemes, is clearly reflected in the success stories like that of Anita Devi.
